Bongo Fury (1975-79)
I was involved in several different groups during the mid-seventies including Moodier, Bongo Fury and Absolutely Furious, working in clubs and galleries throughout Europe.

The people involved included Chris Bishop, Simon Brint, Paul Burwell, Peter Davey, Hermine deMoriane, Polly Eltes, Malcolm Jones, the Kipper Kids, John McKeon, Judy Nylon, Max Paddison and Giles Thomas.

All of the shows involved very visual set-ups and all slipped between classifications and genres. I also made Super8 sound film of myself playing instruments which I then projected to become my own group (Anne Archy) :

"She twisted her voice into a primitive, nerve-prickling instrument, accompanying herself in two simultaneously projected films, one in which she drums and one playing guitar. She occasionally opted out of the very scene she had created by stepping back to take an amused or enquiring look at her two personas on stage and then leapt back to join them. The audience were in turn seduced, enthralled and then threatened as each mood succeeded the other, leaving them finally drained from this electrical performance."
